You are a journalist, passionate about the mountains, crazy about skiing or snow sports, eager to discover new landscapes, and above all curious and open to new connections within the journalistic world — exchanges, encounters, and collaborations with colleagues from around the globe. Then the International Ski Club of Journalists (SCIJ) is for you.
Founded in 1955, notably as a response to the Cold War and the borders it created, the Club brings together hundreds of media professionals for an annual gathering. Each year, the event takes place in a different mountain setting. Skiing, competitions, discussions, debates, story ideas, and of course networking and friendship are all part of the experience.
Today, the Ski Club continues to foster strong professional ties and reflections on journalism and the major challenges the profession faces.

We are looking to give a new momemtum to our ski club. This page is written for colleagues, journalists’ associations, and unions.
It would be great if you, or someone you know could share this page with the appropriate people to help spread the word about SCIJ. We are looking to identify potential positive responses for new members.

About SCIJ
The Ski-Club International des Journalistes (SCIJ) is an independent, non-political, non-profit international association founded in 1954, with its main headquarters registered in Brussels, Belgium. Officially established in 1955, the association is recognized as one of the few global networks dedicated to both journalism and skiing, fostering exchanges, connections, and collaboration among media professionals from many countries.
Since its creation, the SCIJ has aimed to promote friendship, cultural exchange, and professional dialogue among journalists worldwide. Each year, the association organizes international gatherings, typically held in renowned ski resorts, combining sports competitions, conferences, workshops, and networking opportunities. These events not only allow participants to discover new destinations but also help generate significant international media coverage.
Staying true to its founding values, the SCIJ remains a unique platform where journalism, sport, and intercultural exchange come together. By encouraging dialogue beyond borders, the organization continues to strengthen ties among media professionals while celebrating the richness of mountain cultures and landscapes around the world.
