SCIJ 71st Meeting – Catalan Pyrenees, March 2026

The stunning Catalan Pyrenees set the stage for the 71st SCIJ meeting, held during the first week of March at the Boí Taüll ski resort in the Vall de Boí.

Nearly 100 journalists from 24 countries came together for another memorable SCIJ gathering—combining skiing, professional exchange, and cultural discovery. Participants explored the breathtaking valley, home to the renowned 11th-century Romanesque churches, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Spanish organizing team delivered an exceptional event on short notice, once again showcasing the warmth, efficiency, and hospitality they are known for.

New International Committee Elected

During the meeting, elections were held for the SCIJ International Committee. The newly appointed members are:

Secretary-General: Bruno Schmitz (Belgium)
Vice President, Chief of Race: Dario Cavaliere (Italy)
Vice President, Team Development: Julia Pavesi (France)
Vice President, Journalism and Culture: Émilie Dubreuil (Canada)
Vice President, Communications: Adrián Stravitz (Argentina)

We extend our sincere thanks to outgoing committee members Frederick Wallace, Ana Raic Knezevic, Gamze Düşmez, and Ulli Brünger for their dedication and valuable contributions to SCIJ.

Celebrating 70 Years of SCIJ

Another highlight of the meeting was the release of the 70th anniversary commemorative book (1955–2025). This remarkable publication, created by Ramon Vilaró, Jaume Castell, and Xavi Sastre, captures the history and spirit of SCIJ.
