SCIJ was represented at the great spectacle of the Milan–Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics thanks to Dario Cavaliere, Italian Vice President and Chief of the Races within the World Association of Ski Journalists, who served as a torchbearer for a stretch of the route that brought the Olympic torch toward the opening ceremony.

It was a moment of great prestige and pride for an association such as SCIJ – there could have been no better showcase to remind everyone that its values mirror those of the Olympic movement: excellence, friendship, and respect.

These translate into broader principles such as fair play, solidarity, loyalty, and the promotion of peace, encouraging the fight against discrimination and the advancement of gender equality through sport, in order to foster more aware and united citizens.
