INTERNATIONAL SKI JOURNALISTS ASSOCIATION RETURNS TO ANDORRA FOR HISTORIC 72ND WINTER MEETING
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Grandvalira Resorts to host journalists from 32 nations in February 2027
ANDORRA LA VELLA / BRUSSELS – The Ski-Club International des Journalistes (SCIJ) and Andorra Business announce that the 72nd SCIJ Winter Meeting will be held at Grandvalira Resorts, Andorra, from February 21st to 28th, 2027. The gathering will bring together international ski and mountain sports journalists from 32 countries to the largest ski resort in the Pyrenees.
This marks a significant return to Andorra for the prestigious association, which last held a winter meeting in the principality in 1988. In SCIJ’s 71-year history since its founding in 1954, this will be only the second time the organization has gathered in this unique mountain destination.
A partnership renewed
« Our relationship with Andorra Business began in 2020. We look forward to bringing members from 32 nations to this prestigious part of the world to discover and tell the unique story it has to offer », said Frederick Wallace, SCIJ President.
Judit Hidalgo, Director of Andorra Business, emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership:
« SCIJ aligns perfectly with our strategy to raise international awareness about Andorra and our business partners. We eagerly anticipate welcoming journalists from around the globe to experience our distinctive mountain offering while working together. »
International platform for Andorra’s story
The week-long meeting will provide an exclusive platform for international journalists to explore and report on stories ranging from mountain tourism and sports innovation to the economic dynamics of the principality. Grandvalira Resorts offers exceptional skiing combined with Andorra’s unique cultural, business, and socio-economic landscape.
SCIJ members look forward to learning from the country’s tourism and socio-economic ambitions through the various partners supporting the meeting, including Andorra Business, Andorra Turisme, and Grandvalira Resorts.
The gathering will feature guided skiing, editorial roundtables, cultural programming, traditional SCIJ ski races, and networking opportunities designed to foster professional exchanges among international mountain sports journalists.
Complete meeting details and registration information, along with the editorial program, will be announced following an official press conference in the coming months.
